This matter of late payments is not just related to myself. There are about 500,000 UK Expat Pensioners spread out around the whole world in Canada, Australia and many other countries (See list attached of Frozen & Un-Frozen Countries) who have been systematically robbed by successive UK Governments over about a 50 year period. You have all their names and bank details on record and pay them every four weeks, but you and earlier governments have systematically robbed them for about 50 years.
They retired at age 65, and went to live in Australia or Canada or one of many other countries. Because they went to those countries their old age pension was not index linked in the same way the pensioners in the UK have had their pensions indexed linked.
However, had they gone to live in the USA, or the Philippines or a few other places, including, Guam, American Samoa, Israel, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bosnia or Serbia then their old age pensions are automatically index linked in line with pensioners living in the UK
This means that those that retired years ago at age 65 might now have reached the age of 90 or even a 100 years of age. And that means those poor people, only receive about 40 pounds a week or even less than that. They are poor in the literal sense of the word. They’re living in poverty on handouts and that’s thanks to you and the likes of you. You’re robbing old age pensioners !
This is totally wrong as I’m sure you must agree. Those living abroad are not a financial burden on the National Health Service. They save UK government expense in many ways. They don’t have home helps, they don’t receive cold weather payments and so on and so forth. They are not able to claim “Child Benefit” like the EU citizens of Poland and all the other E.U. member states. Even though the children are not resident in the UK and NOT even UK citizens.
I’m 71 years old and my own two children here in Thailand are aged 11 and 13 years old. I have never received any Child Benefit. That’s actually saved the UK Government thousands of pounds. If I had to return to the UK, I would have to abandon my two children. How could I ever possibly abandon them ?
I couldn’t, abandon them it’s that simple.
You’ve made it impossible for me to take my two children back to the UK.
Because you passed a law that rules a UK citizen cannot bring his own two children to the UK unless he’s earning a salary of about 18,000 Pounds a year.
The the old age pension I receive is 6,240 Pounds a year, and it’s never ever going to increase if I stay here. In fact it’s dropped 20% since Brexit. That’s reduced it in effect by 1,248 Pounds a year. So now it’s only worth 4,992 Pounds a year.
What have you done or said about this ? NOTHING, Zilch, Nowt !
I could never save enough money in order to pay for their British Passports, which they would normally be entitled to have. On top of that I would need to pay for their air fare, again I simply don’t have enough cash.
If I did return where would I live ? I have few assets and the price of accommodation is very high compared to here.
Here in Thailand I pay rent of about 130 Pound a month. My electric & water bill is about 80 Pounds a month. That’s 210 Pounds before I buy any food. I receive about 480 Pounds every four weeks, so that means I’ve got 270 Pounds to last 28 days.
That leaves me with about 10 pounds a day for food, clothing and everything else.
If I need medical attention I must pay for it. But, I can’t pay !
Because my old age pension has dropped 20% in value since Brexit and my old age pension’s never risen a single penny from six years ago when I was 65.
Many of these old age pensioners will also be suffering with sugar diabetes mellitus type 1, just exactly like yourself. How can they pay for everything they need every day? The answer’s very simple They can’t pay !
I’m very luck personally, because I’m as fit as a butcher’s dog. But I realise that even I am not indestructible, and so the day will arrive were I have to go to the doctors for some ailment or other. What would YOU do in that situation?
You talked about “Those who’re just about managing” Well I say “What about those who aren’t managing, because it’s bloody impossible on the money they’r receiving because their pension’s frozen by you”
Compare those Thai prices to Australian or Canadian or UK prices.
Could you survive in good style on 10 pounds a day ? No you couldn’t and neither can I.
I doubt anyone could in this day and age, not even in a country like Thailand
To make matters even worse, the British Pound has dropped in value about 20% due to Brexit. Is there any any compensation for that drop in value? NO !
I’m sure you know very well that The British Government’s first priority is to take care of the safety of its own citizens. You were the Home Secretary for six years
That means the politician’s elected by the people are given their position in power in order to do just that. Not do exactly the opposite and abandon them.
Would you dare to freeze the old age pensions of those pensioners now living in the UK?
NO ! ……… Not on your life.
It would be electoral suicide and YOU know it only too well
How long would you be able to cling to power ? A week or two and you’d be gone
This policy is wrong, simply wrong and NOW is the time for YOU to try and put it right quickly
A burglar who’d systematically rob an old age pensioner month after month year after year would be denounced even by other thieves as the lowest of the low, scum !
But the policy you’re rigidly applying and sticking to is doing exactly the same thing. You’re stealing from 500,000 UK Expat old age pensioners every single month.
This theft is all quite painless for YOU, it’s all done by computer programmers that you’ve instructed. You give the orders don’t you ?
If it was you that had to go out and use a cosh and a knife to rob the old age pensioners to get the money yourself, you’d soon make changes to the policy very quickly, because it would mean that YOU yourself would be arrested by the police or surrounded by an angry mob after your blood. And that’s putting it mildly
No it’s a bit like a bomber pilot pressing a button on his joystick. Press the button and then 500,000 pensioners on the ground all over the world are robbed yet again, but the pilot’s sitting pretty, safe in his bomber and goes home for tea with his chums back at HQ and says that’s a good job well done. Look at the money we’ve saved.
This is a classic case of cognitive dissonance
Well I’m sorry Mrs May, but from now on you can expect a lot of heavy flack until this huge theft is stopped once and for all and this nasty little policy is shot down in flames
You’ve known all about it for a long time haven’t you? But you have said and done absolutely nothing about it. YOU were the Shadow Works & Pensions Secretary in 2009 for about a year weren’t you?
That’s despicable. You should be ashamed of yourself and you’re the daughter of a vicar. You were taught to know what’s right and what’s wrong. And you know this is wrong don’t you?
You’re 60 years of age now and not as strong as you were even a few years ago, so now you have a good idea of the way we all feel about being robbed of badly needed money every single month with no end of it in sight
Now just relax and close your eyes and see yourself in a cheap room, with no money. You’re sick. Sick with worry, with no friends that you can continually keep borrowing money off, with no hope of ever paying them back. Now look down at your two beautiful children age 11 and 13. Notice how you’re worried about what you’re going to give them to eat for their evening meal. Notice the shabby clothes they’re wearing. And now notice how angry and worried you feel.
NOW just multiply that anger you feel 500,000 times !
Now, feel all that HATE coming back at you and YOUR government and it’s “bureaucrats”
Do you feel OK? Do you feel comfortable? If you do feel OK, you’re a psychopath ! Now do the right thing just for once and change this policy TODAY and prove you’re not a psychopath
It’s NOT any politicians business to remove their own citizens’ rights to the old age pension that they were forced to pay into for over 40 years.
Furthermore it is NOT the business of any politician to remove the right to vote of even a single one of its citizens, but that’s exactly what you’ve all done.
Why was that done?
As Prime Minister, you’re in charge of running the government. Therefore it is your job, your duty, to restore and put right both these injustices immediately.
You can put this matter right by paying small amount of extra cash every month AND also paying ALL the money that we should all have been paid in the first place, PLUS INTEREST AT 5% and a LUMP SUM payment to cover the PAIN AND MISERY caused by of you enforcing this illegal and discriminatory policy
Of course I know already what you’re going to say
“Oh, but there isn’t a “MAGIC MONEY TREE” In that cocky and patronizing tone you use so often
Although, I’m sure many in the UK must have wondered about its existence the moment you suddenly discovered a billion pounds to pay the D.U.P within a matter of a week or so of them demanding it
No, fair play. I must confess you’re right, about the “magic money tree” but I’ll tell you what, talking like that to anyone is not a very good idea.
Patronize them and talking to them like they’re children. Just think about it. You really don’t need me to tell you what people think of you and your associates when you talk and act like that.
However you are perfectly correct. There isn’t a magic money tree.
But you have something a MILLION TIMES BETTER. It’s called a printing press. A printing press that prints money, lots and lots of money.
So, why don’t you print the money? What else is it for ?
And then you can stop paying the massive interest on the money you borrow in order to pay the 13 Billion Foreign Aid Budget and all the comedians in the E.U. about 10 Billion every year. Year in and year out
It doesn’t make any sense to keep borrowing money in order to waste it giving it away to foreigners.
And as well as paying UK Expat old age pensioners their full back pay, why don’t you purchase all the UK government bonds with the money you print ?
Pay off the national debt in one fell swoop.
Pay the public sector workers a decent realistic pay rise and spend more on the Police Force and the NHS
Cancel the 13 billion Foreign Aid Budget, and stop paying the E.U. 10 billion every year. That’s a total of 23 billion. To pay us the same as UK based pensioners would cost less than 1 billion.
You’ll still have more than 22 billion left over ! It’s simple kinder garden math’s for god sake
I’m sure you must realize already that the E.U. wants to keep you talking till the cows come home provided you’re still silly enough to keep paying them a billion Pounds every month.
Stop paying them and see what happens. They’ll soon change their tune and WANT to make a deal. If they don’t well the UK wasn’t going to be given anything anyway. So you’ll lost nothing.
You may say, “Oh but we’ll lose their goodwill” Well I say if it’s costing a billion a month to keep their goodwill, they’re not our real friends anyway.
Tell them to put it where the sun don’t shine
I say tell them they’ll get any money due after the UK has got some sense out of them.
Brussels, are treating the UK like naughty children who refuse to obey their parents.
If you did all of this you’d be a national hero! Despite all the many mistakes you’ve made in the past
Household economics is NOT the same as running a country’s economy. The UK has a printing press that can legally print money. A citizen can’t legally print money. That’s the difference. I’m stating the bleedin’ obvious
Printing the money will NOT cause inflation. (Austerity, the history of a dangerous idea, by Prof. Mark Blyth)
Devaluing the pound will cause inflation, and that’s exactly what you’ve allowed to happen isn’t it.
Inflation is not a problem all around the world as you must know. You did work in the Bank of England years ago so I’m sure you have a much better grasp of financial matters than I do. If in doubt ask your husband
You might have a “word” with your colleague Mr. Hammond and also ask Professor Mark Blyth for some advice, he’s at Brown University in the USA
To find out more you may also like to look on YouTube or maybe my own website WWW.100Temptations.com/blog and watch Professor Mark Blyth explaining in simple English what great damage austerity does to any economy. Greece is a perfect example.
I’ve already been in touch with “Works & Pension” and of course they’ve just trotted out the official line, “We’ve met all our legal obligations” And of course that’s no use to the 500,000 of us who’re you’re systematically robbing every month, year in and year out.
I’m not in the least bit convinced that you have met all your legal obligations, because this rule discriminates unfairly. We’ve all paid the same contributions
And you’ve certainly never met your MORAL obligations, that’s for sure.
So, I’m afraid if this money is not paid, then of course I shall have no choice but to bring it to the attention of all those on the attached list of recipients.
I do think that once the great British public knows the enormity of this systematic theft that’s been perpetrated by successive groups of politicians running the UK governments over decades there’ll be a huge public and media uproar.
So now is your chance to get ahead of the curve for just this once and to quickly put this matter right and UNFREEZE all the pensions you have frozen, and do it TODAY ! And then you’ll be our hero !
I would imagine this HUGE THEFT FROM OLD AGE PENSIONERS will be even bigger than the MP and Lords expenses scandal that is still fresh in the public’s mind.
So please take all my advice and pay immediately and right this dreadful, indefensible and heartless injustice TODAY !
To sum up
1. Pay all what you know you owe us. (See attached spreadsheet and the invoice A0001 for the details)
2. Restore the voting rights to all UK Expat citizens everywhere
Yours most sincerely
